1st Annual Captains' Clasher plus 2009-2010 news

Nick and I stopped over at Half Time Rec for some June bocce action.
There wasn't much to report until Nick pissed in the corner and I shattered a fluorescent tube in the middle of the court. I tossed the pea to Nick after a round but released it too high. It hit the architectural masterpiece of the ceiling, knocked the tube loose, and finally hit the ground to shatter. So, there's a bit of neon dust (or some sort of gaseous material) floating around the basement.
The incident took place on the green court and the red court was wet from leaky pipes and spilled beer. The Urban Achievers had won the first game and was rolling to victory in the second, but we had to cut the match short due to the court conditions. So, no official victory, but it was a good way to spend an hour. Pictures are below.
As most of you know, Louie sold the bar in July. I was a bit concerned at first, but things seem to be 1000x better under new management. 2-for-1 specials every night from 7-9, a remodeled basement and bathroom, flat screen TVs, and a new paint job. The staff seems friendly although I am unsure if Patty, Moon, Mike, and Taco Man will be around.
The league will still be run by Jack Pojar and we are set for a November 4th start. I am unsure of the times, but we will continue to run with two teams. That being said, Half Time Wrecked may need some help with putting together a team. Spread the word, and hopefully we can get some new players.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Summer.
Matt
