My '08 resolution is to not lose bocce matches to drunk, old men

Below is the schedule for 2008. The slate is wiped clean and each team is now at 0-0.
For those that have a hard copy of the new schedule, you'll notice Team Half Time Wrecked has a new name of Half Time Wreck. Currently, Louie has named each team three different ways. The names he has given have been:
Half Time Rec #1
Half Time Wrecked
Half Time Wreck

The Urban Achievers have been given the names of:
Urban Achivers
Urban Archivers
Half Time Rec #2

The last match before Christmas was a real struggle for both teams. The Knights took 3 games from The Urban Achievers in a very frustrating match. The Knights, one of the best teams in the league and definitely the friendliest, could have rolled blindfolded and still won the match. Experience seems to be the final piece to the bocce league puzzle. Veterans seem to know every nuance to the courts and use it to their advantage. Speaking of bocce puzzles, Travis, find me one. 1000 pieces or less. The humiliating part of this match is that Taco Man filled in for a missing team member of The Knights. He continuously spilled all over himself, threw the wrong color ball twice, threw out of turn once, and could barely stand at the end of the match. Why was this humiliating for The Achievers? BECAUSE HE THREW HIS BALL WITHIN A FOOT EACH TIME. He performed so well that he left unannounced after the second game and didn't come back. I thought for sure he was making a batch of celebratory sloppy joes, but I never saw him again. The Knights took the last game of the match and they only rolled with three players.
I wasn't able to catch much of Half Time Wrecked's game, but it appears they struggled against The Rolling Stones. They lost 3-0 and couldn't get much of a rhythm for much of the night. An interesting tidbit picked up from The Knights' captain is that The Rolling Stones are the most hated team in the league. I'm proud to say that The Knights are quite fond of both of our teams and would gladly play us any time. Things really change when Travis isn't around, I guess.
Also of note, Taco Man did not provide tacos.

The 2008 opener should be a good one. Half Time Wrecked will be looking for vengeance after The Urban Achievers made their presence known in 2007. I can't believe I wrote this much about bocce. See you Wednesday.
